The “New York Herald-Tribune’s” Washington correspondent says: One of the first important moves President Roosevelt will make after his return to Washington will’ be to press for early legislation for the establishing of permanent policy of compulsory military training for all young men in their late teens. It is understood that Mr Roosevelt studied suggestion's for such a Bill, while in the Pacific. Some believe Mr Roosevelt may be planning the step as a bold political move, but others feel that Mr Dewey would also.endorse such legislation. Popular opinion polls indicate a large majority of Americans as in favour of the step.
