Some misunderstanding has arisen in the Buller district from the fact that Reefton is included in the West Coast district for the War Loan Campaign. It was learned yesterday that Inangahua, Inangahua Camp, Rotokohu, Capleston and Cronadun are not included in the West Coast district.

A delay of nearly four hours was caused to the goods train from Westport to Greymouth yesterday, when two Q wagons loaded with coal lelt the rails between Mawheraiti* and Tawhai at 12.47. The train arrived at Greymouth at 6.20 p.m., instead of 2.30 p.m., but the rail-car service was not disorganised to any extent. Otago Land Sales Committee on Monday refused to permit the sale of farm property at Inch Clutha to a civilian applicant at 13796. The committee stated that if a serviceman, who had bid for the property at an earlier abortive auction, filed an application he would be granted a transfer at the basic value, fixed at 13450.

The question of supporting a proposal to establish a Kindergarten infant school at Dunollie was discussed at a' meeting of the Runanga School Committee, when it was decided to secure a return of the number of children in Dunollie, and to considei the matter at the next meeting. , was stated during the discussion that the infant mistress had too large a class to teach, and that if an additional teacher was provided and the class divided into two s ch°° would be all to the g°°d- One mernber said that there would, no doubt, be a large number of children from Dunollie of school age later but at present the most were ot kmdergMet age'.
