four Own Correspondent.] A number of very fine Black Poll Angus breeding cattle have been imported by Mr. Wm. Adamson of Wataroa, South Westland. The stock were originally from Central Otago, where they were bred at Middlemarcn. These animals will be a real acquisition to the district. Some thirty Wataroa residents at the week-end attended the Harihari dance to welcome home several youngservicemen and one young lady. Wataroa junior football team played Harihari juniors here at the weekend. winning by 23 points to 11. Whitebait are now being caught in the Waitangi-tecne River in small Quantities. It. is here expected that the season will prove a good one. Messrs C. O. Coad (war loan organiser) of Wellington, accompanied by Mr. M. R. Aldridge. Chief Postmaster, of Greymouth, called on various Wataroa 'residents, explaining the urgency of supporting the new War Loan, for which Wataroa’s levy is £5,000. Compared with other localities, this quota appears very reasonable.
