The death of M.r John Straker occurred yesterday morning at his residence, High Street. Aged 57 years, deceased had spent the greater part of his life at Ngakawau, but had resided at Greymouth for the past seven years. He had been employed by tne Canterbury Education Board as a carpenter. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Jack and Ronald (overseas), and Allan and Eric (Greymouth), and three daughters, Misses Elsa, Nova and Beth (Greymouth); also two brothers, Messrs Donald (Marlborough) and Thomas (Granity) The funeral takes place at Karoro Cemetery to-morrow.
