The following naval casualties were reported to-day, rank being Ordinary Seaman and R.N.Z.N. unless otherwise stated:— Lost life as result of enemy action: Brand, Thomas E., of Clive, Hawke’s Bay. Died as result of enemy action: Munro, George C. C., of Wanganui. Killed in air raid: Smith. Cedric F., Auckland. Seriously injured in aircraft accident: Waite, Acting Lieut. (A) Gavin (R.N.Z.N.V.R.), United States. Injured in air raid: Goodfellow, William A., Lower Hutt. Missing: Brandon, Trevor J„ Auckland; Dyer, Reginald D., Dunedin; Johnston, Morris E., Auckland; Jordon, Allan K., Auckland; Nunn, Dennis A., Wellington; Robson, Charles E., Palmerston North; Wasley, Alfred 1., Palmerston North. Previously reported missing, now presumed dead: Cartwright, Tern. Lieut. James S. (R.N.Z.N.V.R.), of Pleasant Point, Canterbury.
