Hon. J. O’Brien, Minister of Transport and Marine, arrived on Saturday from Wellington.

Miss E. Wallace arrived from Dunedin on Saturday.

Mrs J. P. Browne, of Runanga, left by ’plane last week for Australia.

Mr. G. Maxwell Keyes, Vocational Guidance Officer, Christchurch, will arrive at Greymouth on Wednesday.

Mr. Edward Keating of Wellington, is at present on a visit to his parents in Greymouth.

Mr. C. O. Coad, National War Loan Committee representative, Wellington, leaves this evening for Christchurch.

The friends of L.A.C. Sidney and Mrs. Cropp of Thompson Street, will regret to learn of the death on Saturday of their infant son, Garry, aged six. L.A.C. Cropp is serving at present in the Pacific.

The funeral of the late Mr. Richard John Hall, of Stillwater, tooK place at Karoro Cemetery on Saturday afternoon. Rev. C. A. Scarfe, of Ahaura, conducted the services at Sampson’s Chapel and at the graveside.

The Revington’s Hotel guest list includes the following: Messrs A. Bvckley (Auckland). J. McCall, A. McCall (Coromandel), S. Clark, J. Clark, F. Clark (Christchurch), R. Styles (Nelson), C. O. Coad (Wellington) and Mr. and Mrs. J. Doolan (Dunedin).

The sudden death occurred at his residence, Reid Street, Blaketown, yesterday, of Mr, Frederick Sara, a former Reefton resident, aged 55 years. He collapsed and died while out in the sunshine, during the afternoon. He had not been receiving medical attention, and his sudden demise was totally unexpected. Born at Taylorville, he had spent the greater part of his life in Reefton, where he was engaged in mining. Coming to reside at Greymouth about four years ago, he had been since employed on the wharf. Mr. Sara took a great interest in brass oands, and lately had been a member of the Greymoutn Municipal Band. He also was a member of the Star of the West Lodge, Druids. He is survived by his wire and five sons, William, Alexander, James, Kenneth (Greymouth) and Aubrey (Takaka), and three brothers, Martin, William (Reefton) and Chariton (Westport). The funeral Will take place at Karoro Cemetery tomorrow..

The death of Rev. Father Gordon B. O’Meeghan occurred at Lewisham Hosital,'Christchurch, on Friday, following a lengthy illness. A man of sterling character, he will be missed not only by his fellow priests of tne Canterbury diocese, but also by a wide circle of friends throughout the Dominion. He; was a brilliant musician, a pianist of very high standard. After studying at Holy Cross College, Mosgiel, he was ordained in 1926 and shortly after proceeded to Rome to further his studies. The late Father O’Meeghan was for, a short time stationed at Hokitika, until illness compelled him to; leave for Christchurch, and he had been in failing health ever since. Solemn Requiem Mass for tne repose of his soul will be celebrated at St, Mary's Church, Hokitika on Thursday morning at 9.30 o'clock, at which the clergy of the West Coast will be present. Rev. Father P. O’Meeghan of Akaroa, and formerly of Ahaura, is a cousin of the deceased priest. The funeral will take place at ■Christchurch this morning.
