RUGBY FOOTBALL
TO-DAY’S MATCHES
No surprises resulted from last week’s fixtures, but the results of to-day’s games do not appear easy to pick. The main one will be between Blaketown and Hokitika on Rugby Park No. 1. On two occasions when these teams met, Hokitika won comfortably, but if Blaketown reproduces its form .of last week, the outcome to-day may be different. However, the southern fifteen is alw-ays a hard one to defeat.
Celtic and Star-United play on the B. ground, and despite the disparity between their positions in the competition, another close, even contest can be predicted. Both play a type qf football which is pleasing to watch. Cobden and' Celtic teams’which will provide the curtain raiser, will be the only third grade teams to take the field to-day, as Technical team went overland to play their annual match with Papanui, at Christchurch on Thursday. Fourth grade matches will be played on the Technical school ground. Teams for to-day:—
