ITALIAN CAMPAIGN
[Aus. & N.Z- Press Assn.] (Rec. 12.40)' LONDON, Aug. 11. An attack bv the Polish-Italian troops, of the Eighth Army in the Adriatic sector has driven the enemy from high ground between the Misa Cesano Rivers, says to-day s Allied communique from Italy. They have taken the towns of Scapezzano, Monterado and Corinaldo. There now are only minor pockets of enemy resistance south of the river Cesano up to 12 miles inland, and reconnaissance patrols are already across the r.ver. There has been no important change in the dispositions along the remainder of the front, where patrol activity continues. ■Brisk guns duels cross the Arno have enlivened the Pisa sector. There the Germans continue infiltration attempts against Eighth Army positions. An Italian, General Potdnte, Commander of a partisan Garibaldi Brigade, was killed during a skirmish against Fascist snipers in Florence.
