BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEET There were present at a meeting of’the Board of Governors of the Greymouth Technical High School on Monday evening Messrs J. B. Kent (Chairman), P. J. McLean, F. Bird, W. Braithwaite, F. H Denton, 0, S. Kennedy, E. O. Henry, W. D. Taylor and Mrs G. Blair. The Principal, Mr W. M. Stewart, dated that he had complied with a request of the Education Department details as to site, etc. to decide the policy to be adopted by the Housing Department in selecting a suitable plan for a new residence for the caretaker. His action was approved. The resignation of Mr C. F. Shapcott, who has been transferred to Wellington, was received, it being lecided to place on record gratitude his services while a member of she board. The Canterbury Education Board advised that indefinite leave of absence had been granted Mr, J. J’. Haddock, a board member on military service. The Education Department advised .hat 54 square yards of brown inlaid linoleum had been made available for purchase for the hostel. The Department ias approved of the re-opening of he three further examination classes vhich dropped out three years ago hrough lack of support but has nade it clear that if attendances fall below a reasonable minimum the 'lasses are to be closed.
