TOur Own Correspondent.] Mrs. Williams and family of Westport have been spending 2' holiday with Mr. and Mrs. A. Plarris. Mrs. A. Malcolm is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mr. J. McKenzie has returned after visiting Auckland and Wellington. Mr. W. Parfitt has left here to take up a position in Christchurch. Miss H. Steele has been visiting Christchurch. At a forty-five tournament held by the women’s branch of the Labour Party on Monday, Mr. W. Flemming won first prize, and Mr. W. Berry was second. In a similar tourney at Webbtown, Mrs. G. Geddes was the prize winner. Mrs. Payne returned to Christchurch after visiting her parents here, Mr and Mrs. T. Barnes. Messrs T. Barnes and A. McGregor who have been on tlie sick list for some weeks, are improving. Miss G. Berdinner, who is teaching at Karamea, spent her holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Berdinner. Miss M. McArthur lias returned after a holiday visit to relations in Blenheim. Lorraine, daughter .of Mr. and Mrs. D. Lambert, was recently admitted to the Westport Hospital. At a meeting of the Stockton Sick Fund the balance sheet was adopted. Mr. H. L. Evans was elected unopposed as chairman and Messrs D. J. Rees and H. Evans, were unanimously elected to the committee. It was decided to bring to the notice of the authorities the matter of persons in receipt of Sick Fund benefit and Social Security payments, being penalised as far as the Social Security Department is concerned', when members have drawn holiday pay at the end o f the year.
