CAMBRIDGE DEGREES

FOR MESSRS FRASER AND CURTIN. (Rec. 12.17 a.m.) LONDON, May 19. Mr. Fraser and Mr. Curtin to-day visited Cambridge University to receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws. The Master of Magdalene College, Dr. A. B. Ramsa'v in the customary Latin address, said Mr. Fraser was helping to lay a foundation for future peace which would make the British Commonwealth once and for all impregnable against the madness and cruelty of brigands and tyrants. He said Mr. Curtin by his integrity, character and.purpose had, first, united his own party in domestic politics, and then, when war threatened the whole of Australia, he had placed the cause of British liberty before eveiwthing else.
