[Our Own Correspondent]. WESTFORT, May 3. ’ Lieutenant-Colonel D. J. Fountaine and Mrs. Fountaine have left for Nelson. The Millerton mine resumed work to-day. Pam Stevens, the six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Stevens, Bright Street, received a severe cut on her forehead when she fell in a shelter shed at the Westport North School on Monday. She was treated at the Buller Hospital. At the biennial householders’ meeting at the Westport North School the following S’chool Committee was elected: Messrs E. Fair (chairman), C. W. Kearns (secretary), G. Mockett, K. Goodman, D. McLellan, R. Blair, S. Davies, W. Mann, and K. Smith. The following were elected at the meeting at the South School: Messrs T. M. Matthewson (chairman), C. Sara (secretary), H. A. Levestam, P. R. Egan. A. R. Ness, G. M. Maxwell, W. P. Champion, P. E. Trevella and J. K. Clark. National War Savings'investments in the Buller district last week totalled £338 14s Bd. The quota is £350. District office totals were: Westport £240 2s 8d; Denniston. £3 2s; Granity £77 8s; Karamea £lB 2s.
