At the monthly meeting on Monday of the Greymouth District Committee of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary there were present Mesdames Stewart (chair), Kitchingham, Olson, Parfitt, Greenslade, Kennedy, and the secretary. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs. O’Brien and Miss Hill. It was reported that five applicants had had notice of acceptance into the women’s land service, while one was not released from her present position. It was decided to discontinue regular parades of members in the meantime, it being understood that all units would be prepared to assist when called upon. The committee expressed (aoprec’tition of instruction given by Staff-Sergeant Gurden and his unfailing interest in the Greymouth Company. The secretary reported that, through the generosity of Mr. F. B. White, a window display of land service equipment had beeh made for a period of one week, and had aroused considerable interest.

A letter was received from Mrs. Fraser, Dominion President, thanking the members for the work of the past year. Southern Military District Headquarters wrote expressing appreciation to all those who had assisted in the making of camouflage nets.
