HARIHARI NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent], Mr. G. E. Graham has returned home after being a patient in the Westland Hospital for the past fortnight. Marline the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aldrige, had tne misfortune to fall at the local school on Friday last and break her arm. The sufferer was conveyed to the Westland Hospital. Rae, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Osmers, of Poerua Valley, was also conveyed to the Westland Hospital to receive further treatment for burns which he received a' fortnight ago. Driver E. V. Kirby who has been on a months leave returned to camp last week.

Messrs F. Ford, Haddock, Levett and Egan visited Christchurch tor the New Zealand Cup. Mr. and Mrs. P. J. McLean, who had been on a visit here last week returned to Greyknouth on Friday. Mrs. M. Diedrich is at present bn a visit to Christchurch.

By the end of the present week all those who have been fishing for whitebait in both the Big and Little Wanganui rivers will be withdrawing their nets from the water. All agree that the season has been a record one.

The weather for the past few weeks has been at its best with warm sunny days. Many of the residents have run rather short of water for household use, and the water holes in the various paddocks have been. drying up.
