WEDDING

SKATES—CAMPBELL A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth; on Wednesday, when Hazel May, twin daughter of Mr and Mrs Campbell, of Kaiata, was married to Henry Desmond, only son of Mr and Mrs Skates, of Cobden, Rev. Father A. Gregory performed the ceremony. The bride, escorted by her father, made a pretty picture attired in a navy costume, fawn hat, accessories to tone, and carrying a bouquet of roses, aubitilions and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid was Miss Dorothy Campbell, twin sister of ithe bride. She wore a navy costume, vieux rose hat, accessories to tone, and carried a bouquet of roses, carnations and maidenhair fern. Mr J. Roche ably performed the duties of best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held at Herb Moore's Tearooms, where Mrs Campbell, mother of the bride, received the guests; She was wearing a navy coat over a floral silk dress, a navy hat, accessories to tone, and a shoulder spray of white roses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy costume, navy .accessories, and fur stole with a shoulder spray of pink roses. Many toasts were honoured amidst music and merriment. In the evening a number of friends were entertained by the bridegroom’s parents at their home. The happy couple left on their honeymoon by Thursday’s Christchurch express, accompanied by the good wishes of their numerous friends, the bride wearing a teal blue coat over a dark dress, with navy shoes and hat.
