Gestapo Arrests VICHY OFFICIALS. LONDON, November 26. It is reported from Lyons, states the Zurich correspondent of the ‘‘Daily Telegraph” that the Gestapo has arrested various personalities in Vichy Government circles, including three former members of Marshal Petain’s Cabinet. The prisoners are at present interned in a villa- in Germany. but they are being courteously treated. It is explained that they are not guilty of any particular offence but that their policy might some day turn out to be dangerous to Germany. ' (rri . The Geneva correspondent of ‘The Times” says: An authoritative source reveals that the Germans in the last seven weeks have mined the Paris Metro (the underground railway). Paris radio reports that M. Taittinger. President of the Paris Municipal Council, has appealed to unessential workers to leave the city because of the critical food situation. PARIS MINED (Rec. 9.51) LONDON. Nov. 27. A French expert who arrived at. Berne said: The Germans have mined the whole of Paris, and if ever they have to evacuate and carry out a wrecking plan, not much will remain of the city. He added that thousands of tons of dynamite had been placed throughout Paris, and all roads and bridges leading to the coast were mined.
