j The death occurred, yesterday of an i old and esteemed resident of Grejmouth, Miss Florence Berry, of 26 Alexander Street, after an illness lasting for some time. A daughter of the late Mr. C. J. Berry, a former Chief Postmaster at Greymouth, the late Miss Berry had resided here for very many ypars. She was predeceased some months ago by her sister, Mrs. T. E. Coates. The following are guests at Revington’s Hotel: Messrs M. C. Cooper, G. J. Wills, Mrs. G. R. Hunter, Mrs. W. J. Cotton (Christchurch), Mr. and Mrs. J. Alexander, Mr. G. Bridget (Wellington), Lt.-Colonel and Mrs. L. G. Dill (Auckland), Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Reynolds (Hokitika), Mrs R. Dale (Tapanui), Mr. and Mrs. H. Thompson (Auckland), Mr. C. D. McGarry (Christchurch). Hon. J. O’Brien (Minister of Transport) will leave to-day on return to Wellington. ’ Mr. J. B. Kent left yesterday for Wellington to attend a meeting of the executive of the Power Boards’ Association. The funeral of Mr. William Feary, of Stillwater, took place at Karoro Cemetery on Saturday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. C. A. Scarfe. Misses A. Jones and C. Sutherland, of the staff of the Railway Department, Greymouth, left yesterday for Christchurch where they will receive specialised instruction. The following are guests at tae Albion Hotel: Messrs J. Allen (Wellington), T. B. Eggleton (Auckland), Miss E. Walters, Messrs C. E. Smith, A. Cole, J. N. Evans, C. T. Bishop, A.’ Lovatt, W. Shand (Christchurch), J. S. Edmonds (Timaru), D. L. Gowan, C. Kneebone (Suva), L. A. Griffiths, H. Hungar (Stratford), E. J. Paine (Westport), Mr. and Mrs. Stillwell (Motueka). Mr. and Mrs. A. Lemon of Wellington arrived yesterday from Christchurch and are the guests of Mrs. L. Matthews, Alexander Street. The death occurred on Sunday of Mrs. M. J. Menzies, wife of Mr. J. L. Menzies, Acting Trade Commissioner for Australia in New Zealand, states a Press Association message from Wellington. Mrs. Menzies, who was aged 47, had been in ill-health for some years.
