SECONDARY EDUCATION
COMMITTEE TO REPORT IMMEDIATELY. WELLINGTON, Nov. 27. The consultative committee on postprimary education held its final meeting this week and will submit its report to the Minister of Education (Hon. H. G. R. Mason) immediately. . . The committee’s chairman is Mr. W. Thomas, M.A., LLB., and its appointment followed the acceptance by the University! Senate .of the accrediting system in place of matriculation as a University entrance qualification. When the committee’s appointment was announced by Mr. Mason he predicted that the changed system would result in a revolution in secondary education and would be a major turning-point in post-primary education. . It is expected that m view of the wide interest in the committee's proposals, the report will be printed for general circulation.
