WEEK-END MATCHES. In Saturday’s cricket Marist Brother’s High School defeated Air Training Corps bv an innings and 52 runs. Marist made 142 (Kane 45, Sullivan 32). Lindsay taking seven wickets for 62. Air Training Corps made 53 in the first innings, (Lovell 16, Ellis 15), and 37 in the second innings, in which Dennehy took five wickets for six. Cobden 162 (Russell 52, Guy 31). defeated Technical 115 (double figure scorers included Stevens and Smith), wickets being taken by Rus sell (5), A. Knapp (4), and Mumm (1% Two matches were played yesterday at the Recreation Ground. Marist 122 defeated United B 78 on the first innings. The best scores in Marist’s innings were made by Morris 49, Hamilton 25, Dennehy 16, and Meates 10, Roberts taking 2 for 20, Blair 2 for 25, Popich 1 for 5, Sansom 1 for 7, Mumm 1 for 27 and A. Knapp 1 for 29. For United B A. Knapp made 30 and Sansom 19, Morris taking 3 fop 37, Sullivan 1 for 2, Knowles 2 for 9, aad Bayley 1 for 12. In the second match Cobden 70 defeated United A (36 and 34) by an innings. Cobden’s best scorers were Mclntosh 21, Fletcher 15 and Gilbert 16, Garforth taking 2 for 2, J. Knam 2 for 25, Hornsby 2 for 10, and Swinburn 2 for 22. United B top scorers in the first innings were Williams 12, Swinburn 12. Fletcher taking 4 for 10, de Freatus 2 for 10, and Gilbert 1 for 1. In the second innings Hornsby made 12 and Williams 13 Guy takinc 5 for 19 and Gilbert 2 for 4.
