WARSAW MANHUNT

GERMANS ARREST 5000 PEOPLE RUGBY, Oct. 17. The Polish Government in London received to-day from its delegate in Poland an alarming report about a manhunt carried out at Warsaw on Wednesday last. At 9 a.m. lorries with S.S. escorts suddenly appeared and drew a cordon round whole blocks of streets and proceeded to carry out a most savage manhunt. They seized everyone. Those who tried to escape were shot at. Mass arrests and searches followed durin# the night into Thursday. On Saturday street raids started again .and shots were hoard. It is impossible to estimate tlu number arrested hut it must be more than 5000. There fate is unknown.
