RUNANGA NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) Mesdames A. J. Farquharson and J. Taylor of Dunedin are visiting Mr and Mrs T. Durkin, Dunollie. Miss Nola Kaye, Wellington, has been visiting her mother at Dunollie.
L.A.C. Roy Jackson is visiting his parents. Mrs G. Graig and family of Wellington have recently been visiting Mrs I. Kitchin, Runanga. A movie film exhibiting West Coast scenery was projected at the Runanga Gymnasium on Wednesday evening by Mr D. W. Frazer. There was a large attendance, the proceeds being in aid of Miss Russia. The Runanga Co-op. Women’s Guild held their fortnightly social in the Druids’ Hall on Friday evening. Frizes for card cutting were won by Mesdames Todd and Rutherford. Mrs Reynolds won the raffle.• Two dozen throwovers were Tianded' in for the Red Cross. On .July 23, a dance, social and play, “The Photographers,” will be given in the Gymnasium in aid of Miss Russia. The programme includes a Hawaiian choir in full costume, and a very clever performing dog. Prices are 1/- and 1/6, including supper. A raffle is being run for the International and Dominion Guilds. After supper, dancing and community singing was enjoyed, before the meeting closed.
