EGG SUPPLY
RATIONING IN AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, June 9. The Minister of Supply (Mr. Sullivan) to-day, announced the introduction of a preference rationing scheme for eges in Auckland and Wellington, applying to invalids, expectant mothers, and children under live years of duri’m the winter season June to August. Mr. Sullivan said the scheme was being inaugurated to ensure supplies to those whose need was greatest, and was being applied to those centres where egg shortages were most acute. It replaces thef present system of unofficial rationing through the (Plunket Society and the Internal Marketing Division. The Rationing Controller will be responsible for the administration of the new scheme. Full details of the scheme will be released by the Rationing Controller (Mr. Thomas),
