BIG U.S. FLOOD
(Rec. 12.20) NEW YORK. May 12. Rising with unprecedented rapidity the Arkansas River flooded the lowlands along the Arkansas-Okla-homa border. The Army dispatched barges and assault barges to evacuate families and rescue hundreds marooned on tree tops and roofs. Thousands of acres of land are under water, in some places fifteen feet deep.
