(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, April 5

Mrs A. Paul and daughter have arrived from Wellington on a visit to Mrs Etheridge. Mrs and Miss McCormack of Cronadun are on a holiday visit to Gievmouth. , . Mr Geoff Allen has been rleeased from camp to resume his stulies and proceeded to ccliege in the week-end. Mr Joe Wills returned to Reeiton by last night’s rail-car from Christchurch, where his wife underwent a successful operation at the Public Hospital. Mr W. McHenry who has been on s e.k lea\e alter service in the Pacific, has been advised to resume duty ir. the P. & T. Department at Belgrave. The return from the Slab HUt dredge for the week ending April 3 was 59 ounces. . Mr E. Wildermoth has received work that her son Gordon has been wounded a second time, another son William, is a prisoner of war in Germany. Rt. Rev. Monsignor Mcßae is on a short visit to Reefton. Harvest Festival services were held in the Knox Presbyterian Church on Sunday and the sale of goods took place this evening. Mrs P. Dellaca is on a visit, to her people at Hinau. Mrs F. Rollerston leaves on return to Cobden to-morrow. Last evening the parishioners of St. Michael’s Church, Cronadun, met to farewell the Rev. Father Butler, who has been transferred to Eltham. Mr John O’Regan occupied the chair. The evening was spent in games and community singing. After a dainty supper had been served by the ladies, the chairman asked the guest of the evening to accept on behalf of those present a well-filled wallet. He expressed regret at his departure, as he had won the esteem of the people and would be greatly missed by all. Mr M. S. O’Malley also spoke in eulogistic terms of Father ißutler and extended best wishes to him. Father Butler thanked them all sincerely for their kind wishes and their gift, and he would always look back on with pleasure to the happy days he had spent with them.
