AVIATION BOOM

After the War AUSTRALIA PREPARING (Rec. 10.25) CANBERRA; April 6. Plans are already being developed by the Australian Government in preparation for a tremendous boom which is anticipated in civil aviation after the war. A Government spokesman said to-day that these plans envisage,,the following: (1) Night airliner schedules h'nkinr all of the Australian capitals, with termini at Townsville and at Perth. (2) The air transport of freight and of all first class mails. (3) Dozens of feeder services, for passengers and : for .dightr freight, connecting the country towns to the cities, and inter-connecting the large country towns. (4) Two Government international lines, one going east to the Americas and the other going west on the Empire air route. Full use will be made of the hundreds of aerodromes that will have been constructed in Australia by the end of the war. The Government’s plans will give work to thousands of men who now are in the Royal Australian Ah- Force. The internal services will probably be controlled on the same basis as at present, with private companies operating. (Without competition, on the set routes, under charter from the Government.
