Senator Connally (chairman of the Senate- Foreign Relations Committee) said that the Committee had unan - ,mouslw directed him to appoint a subcommittee of seven members to consider six resolutions dealing with post-war problems and the sub-com-mittee proposed to give- prompt, fa’r. and earnest consideration to the whole of the subject matter and bring its conclusion to the attention of the full Committee at the earliest possible date. Law (Under-Sec-retarv for Foreign Affairs) said that the United States had not been invited to send- representatives to join :n the discussions prior to Britain’s twenty-ye-ars treaty of alliance with Russia, but had been kept fully informed of the discussions which preceded the treaty. He agreed that it was essential that America, Russia and the British Commonwealth should be in complete agreement on post-war economic problems.
