HIGH GREEK DEATH RATE
MASSACRES BY BULGARIANS. (Rec. 11.40.) WASHINGTON. Mar. 25. The Greek Information Office hero announced that twenty thousand Greek nationals had been slaughtered since the occupation of Greece. Bulgarians had massacred fifteen thousand in Thrace and Macedonia and three thousand in Crete as a reprisal for the guerrilla activities, and a’so two thousand in various parts of the mainland. The figures are exclusive of thousands of deaths from starvation. The death rate in Athens last year is reported to have been five ‘hundred dally. Shipment's of food have e?sed the situation, but the Athens death-rate is still two hundred daily.
