WESTERN DESERT COMMAND. RUGBY, Feb. 23. A Cairo message announces the appointment of a new Air Officer Commanding in the Western Desert. Recently 'promoted and youngest ever to hold the position, Air Vice-Marshal H. Broadhurst, D. 5.0., and Bar, D.F.C. and Bar. A.F.C., will succeed Air Marshal Coningham. Marshal Broadhurst was born, in 1905 and entered the R.A.F. in 1926. He wa's for many years aerobatics specialist at the famous R.A.F. annual pageant at Hendon.

SUB. COMMANDER’S 0.8. E. RUGBY. Feb. 23. “For skill and judgment when in command of the submarine which took General Gira'ud and his staff from France,” Lieutenant N. L. A. Jewell, R.N., has been awarded the 0.8. E.
