The National Yearling Sales are being continued to-day at Trentham.

P.A. WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. Some tine types of yearlings were paraded for the' second and concluding day of the national sales at Trentham to-day, and for choice lots there ' was keen competition. Agents operating for Indian and Australian buyers were active.

The top price was 1400gns.. This went to the first Foxbridge colt to enter the ring, a shapely brown, out of the Chief Ruler mare, Rippling Waters, and thus a’ brother to Water Vixen and a half-brother to Water Hound. He was purchased on behalf of F. H. Meta, of Bombay, who has been racing Banco successfully here this season.

The Foxbridges from the Trelawney stud, where the champion sire is located, all sold well. They were excellent sorts, typical of their sire; three colts selling for 2760gns, at an average of 920gns., and three fillies for 1450gn5., an average of just over 482gns. | The next top price was 1200gns. • This was paid by the Te Rapa trainer, A. Winder, who was buying for a I client, for a chestnut colt by Battle Song from Princess Pam, the dam ot iLady Pam. J. T. Jamieson, also acting for an lagent, got a nice brown colt by Defaulter from the imported mare, Merry Miss, for 925gns. D. F. Smith, acting also for a client, paid 900gns. for a half-brother by Lang Bian, to Rulanut. I Before the opening of the sale, a brown colt by Coronach, from Lady I Phroso, incidentally the only Coronach on offer, was paraded in the ring, and the auctioneer stated that he had been sold at a four-figure price privately to Mr. R.
