Hon. J. Ryall, M.L.C., left for Wellington yesterday. . Mr K. A. Fuller, of the Railways Department, has been transferred to Hornby' and left yesterday. Mr F. Leineweber of Napier, has commenced duty with the Railways Department at Greymouth as Inspector of Permanent Ways. Miss C. E. Baty, Kotomanu, will commence duty' to-day as office assistant at the Greymouth railways parcel office. Mr J. W. Newton, formerly of the staff of the Greymouth railway station, has been discharged from the Air Force and has resumed his association with the Railways Department. The Greymouth Borough Council last evening decided to forward letters of sympathy to Mr W. H. Parfitt and Councillor P. Blanchfield, and to express the hope that they would speedily recover. That President and Mrs Roosevelt hope to visit Ottawa was stated at Montreal by Mrs Roosevelt, replying to a message from the GovernorGeneral of Canada, the Earl of Athlone, stating he hoped soon to entertain them. Elsie Smith (Auckland). The wedding took place on December 24 at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Greymouth, of Maureen, only daughter of Mrs and the late Mr M. Anderson, Kaiata, to Leslie, eldest son of Mr and Mrs T. Cron, of Harihan. It is officially 'announced that Sir Andrew Cunningham has been appointed Admiral of the Fleet. ViceAdmirals Sir Guy' Cecil Royle, Sir John Tovey, and Sir Frederick Ed-ward-Collins have been appointed Admirals. Rear-Admirals Arthur St. George Lyser and Sir Harold Martin Buerrough have been appointed ViceAdmirals. The death occurred yesterday at Christchurch of a well-known Greymouth resident, Mr Stanley Augustine Nuttall Sullivan, of Tarapuhi Street. He had been for some years in failing health, and recently' went to Christchurch for special treatment. In his early manhood the late Mr Sullivan had travelled abroad, and was in San Francisco at the time of the great earthquake there over 37 years ago. He came over 20 years ago to the West Coast, residing for a time in the Camerons district, before coming to Greymouth. He took an active interest in the gold mining industry, and was a promoter of more than one venture, and he was a director of the Mossy Creek Dredging Company. He also took an interest in music, having conducted a band in the Brunner district, and later an orchestra in Greymouth. A man of genial disposition, he made many' friends, who will regret to learn of his passing, and extend sincere sympathy to his relatives. Besides his wife (a member of the Arnott family), h e leaves one daughter, Miss Muriel Sullivan (Greymouth), and two sons, Douglas (a member of the Air Force), and Bruce (Greymouth). The funeral' takes place here to-morrow afternoon. '
