The Berlin radio says: The British Eighth Army has -resumed tank attacks against the covering forces of the German-Italian Army. It adds: Early on Wednesday morning General Montgomery brought up heave artillery. LONDON, Nov. 24. The British communique at Cairo on Tuesday said: Our forces entered Agedobia yesterday. They have maintained contact with the enemy, who continued his withdrawal to El Agheila. The enemy has evacuated ij:e Gialo Oasis, which has been occupied by our troops. It is 150 miles south-east of Agedabia. Air acitvity was on a small scale. A 8.8. C. correspondent states that there are no further reports of fighting, beyond patrol action but fightbombers have been ranging far afield and attacked aerodromes in Sicily. On Saturday night they strafed a large .-umber of enemy aircraft on the Catania aerodrome, and yesterday shot up two other aerodromes ■in Sicily. The commanders who directed the Corps operations in the Eighth /• rmy’s recent brilliant victory at Alamein were, according to a Cairo message: Tenth Corps, Lieut.-General S. Lumsden; Thirteenth Corps, Lieut.General B. G. Horrocks; and Thirtieth Corps, Lieut.-General Sir O. W. 11. Leese.’ Australian Losses 2,400 IN RECENT FIGHTING. (Rec. 10.50) CANBERRA, Nov. 25. The Minister for the Army, Mr. F. M. Forde, has announced that the A.I.F. in the recent action against the Axis forces in Egypt suffered two thousand four hundred and nineteen casualties. Of these six hundred and nineteen were either killed in action or died of wounds or are missing. Eighteen hundred were wounded.
