The Governor General left Wellington' Dy air for Invercargill yesterday. Rev. Brother Channel, of the Greymouth Marist Brothers’ School staff, whose brother, Rev. Father Parsonage a missionary in the Solomon Island, had been missing for several months, has received advise that he is now safe. Mr Robert L. Hay, who was in practice as a chiropractor at Greyrnouth until two years ago, died yesrday at Gore, at the residence of i-is mother. He was aged 32 years. Mr H. W. Hay. Cobden, is a broker of deceased. The death occurred yesterday at Reefton, of Mrs E. Bailey, of Maruia. She was aged 59 years. Mrs Bailey was born in London, and had resided in Maruia for many years. Two daughters and a son, all of Maruia, survive her. Right Reverend C. F. Graham Brown. Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem since 1932, has been killed in a motor accident in Northern Palestine states a Press message. The car crashed into a railway level crossing. The death occurred at Greymouth yesterday of Mr James Meikle, of r lackball, aged 69, A native of Scotland, Mr Meikle had lived in Blackball for the past 17 years, and was employed in the coai-mining industry until his retirement two years ago. He became ill suddenly last Saturday and was admitted to hospital. His wife and a family of ten survive him. His live (laughters are Mesdames J. Strang, F. Tinning, D. Bell (all of Runanga), R. Perry 'Blackball) and G. Ware (Ngahere), and the sons, William (Huntly), Ben, John, James and Wilson (Blackball).
