SIR S. CRIPPS
TO MAKE RADIO WAR. LONDON, Nov. 24. "The Mail’s” political correspondent says: Sir S. Cripps, henceforth, will concentrate' on ali-our development of the radio as an offensive weapon for submarine and air warfare. Mr. Churchill, for some time, has been Chairman of the War Cabinet Committee specially concerned with anti-U-boat warfare. Sir S. Cripps will be Vice-Chairman of this Committee, and also Chairman of a special Cabinet Radio Committee, which is handling the co-ordination of the latest scientific developments. Sir S. Cripps' transfer is justified in some quarters on the grounds that he had boundless ener"’'. which w ; ll be invaluable in speeding up production, but no attempt is made, even among his closest friends, to deny he has been a restless member of the War Cabinet, and actually tendered his resignation to Mr. Churchill, some time ago.
