U-BOAT CAMPAIGN
Eight Sinkings IN ATLANTIC LAST WEEK. (Rec. 9.20.) /NEW YORK, Nov. 22. The United States Navy has reported as follows: Axis submarines, operating in the Atlantic Ocean, have sunk four United States merchantmen, two British merchantmerfi and two Norwegian merchantmen during the oast week. “Six of these vessels were sunk off the northern coast of South America. The submarine activity there has been increasing in recent weeks Eighteen were killed. At least 363 were rescued from these attacks. 532 ATLANTIC SINKINGS. IN ELEVEN MONTHS. (Rec. 10.5.) NEW YORK, Nov. 22. The. Associated Press of America publishes a tabulation, which shows that 532 ships have been sunk by U-boats in Atlantic waters since the Pearl Harbour attack. This table is not official.
