GREY SURF CLUB
A general meeting of the Greymouth Surf Club was held at the clubroom, Blaketown, yesterday, there being a good attendance, and Mr J. B. Kent presided. The secretary (Mr J. Walton), stated that he had had several inquiries about forming a ladies’ club., while othei members favoured this project and it was decided that the secretaiy interview one of the ladies interested with a proposal to call a meeting. Mr C. Richardson (captain of the club) stated his wish to resign as he Was leaving Greymouth on military duties. A ~, , It was decided that Mr P. Affleck be appointed to the position during his absence. Four new members were elected. The president then asked the members to lake the life-saving reel to the beach and don their costumes, and he officially declared the season open, after which a large number enjoyed the invigorating salt water of tile 'Blaketown beach.
