CHUNGKING, November 17. The National Military Council reported that Japanese casualties on the China front trom 1937 to October.. 1942, totalled,' 2,513,280. < It is announced that the Japanese puppet commander in Southern Hupeh has deserted to the Chinese witn 2,000 men, rifles and supplies. NEW YORK, November 17 The American Associated Press states twenty-five persons were killed and 68 seriously injured in a head on collision between two trains on the main Indo-China railway, four miles from Hanoi. This was the third serious railway accident on this line- since October 7. Sabotage by the French is believed to be responsible.
