WEDDING

ELLMERS—GILLMAN. The wedding was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church on Saturday last of Lorna Margaret, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Gillman, Ngahere. and Claude Kitchener, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Ellmers, Palmerston North, Rev. A. J. Searle officiating. The bride, who was escorted bv her father, wore a gown of silk figured lace cut on princess lines with heart-shaped neckline and tiny buttons down the back to the waist, the fully-flared skirt falling into a soft train. Her tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom and formed a second train. She carried a trailing boquet. oi lilies, lily-of-the-valley, and maiden hair fern. The br.ide was attended by her ■sister, Eunice, and her niece l , Dorothy Stanton, who wore gowns of pink and blue georgette cut on similar lines to that of the bride. They wore rosettes of - matching net, silver shoes and earned shower boquets of sweetpeas and cineraria's. Both bridesmaids also wore gold lockets, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Eric Pearce, Christchurch, nephew of the bridegroom, was bestman, and Mr. Len Balderstone, groomsman. The reception was held at Harker's Tearooms, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother who wore a model frock of mulberry satin-backed crepe-de-chine l trimmed with lace inserts on sleeves and neckline under ;a fur coat with shoulder spray of sweet peas and maiden hair fern.’ She was assisted by Mrs. J. Pea real, Christchurch, sister of the bridegroom who wore a model frock of blue wyndrosa with daintily tucked neckline over which she wore a furcoat with shoulder spray of roses and maiden hair fern. When Mr. and Mrs C. K. Ellmers left later for Christchurch, bv rail-car, the bride travelled in a nigger-brown frock under a tailored ’ mustard coat, with accessories to tone.
