GIVE PLANES TO NAVY !

Instead of Bombing Cities BRITISH M.P. OPPOSES HATE POLICY. LONDON, June 13. “The Churchillian strategy or tanks and bombers should give way to the production of ships and of fighting planes,” said Mr Stokes, M.P., in a speech. “The first call on our planes should be given to the Navy, and not to those lunatics who thought that Germany could b? bombed into subjection. “I believe that the Cologne bombing was morally wrong! No real effort was made to limit the targets at Cologne to military objectives. We must make it clear to the Germans that the decent-minded Britishers, do not agree with the policy of hate and revenge. We also must make it clear to them that we recognise Hitlerism as being an effect, and not a cause; and that we are determined to remove those economic injustices which gave Hitler the opportunity of snatching power.”
