HARIHARI NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent). Mr William Wall an old resident of the district is at present a patient in the Westland Hospital. Mr C. D. Lucas is confined to his room with a severe attack of influenza.
Mr G. Rowley has returned after spending a fortnight in Christchurch. Mrs P. V. Kirby, who is a patient in the Westland Hospital, is progressing slowly. The funeral of the late Mrs H. Kidd took place at Hokitika last week. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Church by Rev. Father J. Maguire, of Ross, who also conducted the burial service. There was a numerous attendance at the funeral, including .residents of the Harihari district, whilst many o.ther residents who had wished to be present were prevented by the petrol restrictions.
Mr P. O'Donnell, of Wellington, was a recent visitor to Harihari. Privates P. and L. Haddock and R. Miller are here on leave from a military camp.
Mrs M. Diedrich was a recent visitor to Greymouth. Mrs T. Foster of the Little Wanganui is on a brief visit to Hokitika.
Mr and Mrs A. Thorn paid a visit to Hokitika last week.
Messrs W. Searle junr. (chairman), H. Osmers and R. McMillan (directors) of the Inter-Wanganui DairyFactory, visited Hokitika last week.
