McGhie, manager of the Stockton mine, who stated that Tyler’s services were required in tne mine. Ivan L. Tyler appealed on behalf of his son who wished to proceed to camp. The appeal was adjourned sine' die.

South African Veterans 1 At the annual meeting and reunion of the Westport branch of the South African War Veterans’ Association there was a good attendance. Mr H. Bettzeman was reelected president and Mr W. Hart secretary. War pensions for S.A. veterans were discussed and several questions were referred to headquarters. Supper was provided and song, story and a lengthy toast list passed away a pleasant evening.
