ACCIDENT FATAL
Grey Crossing Smash DEATH OF MR A. OGILVIE.
Mr Alexander Ogilvie, who was injured in the crossing smash at the Cobden bridge on Tuesday evening, died at the Grey River Hospital at 8.40 last evening. The other victim of the accident, Mr Samuel Williams, of Arahura, who suffered minor injuries, is still in a satisfactory condition. Mr Ogilvie was a native of Grej'mouth, and had been working in the Public Works Department for some years. He formerly was employed by the late Mr Kim Williams, and later kept a mercer’s shop on his own behalf in IWawhera Quay. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs J l . Devine, Runanga, and Mrs Weaklev. of Wellington; two sons, Alexander, a member of the Armed Forces serving in the Middle East, and Leo, of Greymouth; two sisters, Mrs W. Muir (Wellington), and Mrs J. Tennent (Greymouth,) ; and two brothers, Messrs William Ogilvie (Gladstone), and H. F. Ogilvie (Greymouth), both wellknown businessmen in the district. 'The funeral, which will be nrivate, Will take place on Friday. An inquest will be held.
