RUGBY FOOTBALL
WEST COAST UNION.
The Management Committee of West Coast Rugby Union met last evening. Present: Messrs A. A. Adams (chairman), T. P. Ryan, F. Eggieton, J. Guy, T. Mclntosh, M. Olsen, T. O’Donnell, and O. McLean (Secretary). The annual report of the New Zealand Rugby Union was read oy the Chairman, who pointed out that nearly all the expenditure was on school football. Loans to Unions came to approximately f 36,000. Cash in hand amounted to £226. Stock he'-ld totalled approximately £6OOO. The report was approved on the motion of the Chairman.
Two applications for reinstatement into the code were received and will be forwarded to the New Zealand Rugby Union with favourable recommendations. It was decided to write to fill clubs concerning the position of players who have taken part in other codes. Permission ifor 'tlhe use of the Union rooms was granted to St. John’s Sunday School. The following fixtures for Saturday were approved:— . Senior (all matches at 3 p.m.): Army v. at Park, No. 2 (Mr Eggieton); Blaketown v. Cobden at Park No. 1 (Mr. Bell); Hokitika v. Celtic at Hokitika. Third grade (at 1.39 p.m.): Technical v. Star at Park No. 1 (Mr. Longstaff); Celtic v. Cobden at Park No. 2 (Mr. Fergugon). Fourth grade (at 1.30 p.m.): Blaketown v. Technical A at Technical (Mr. Costello). The senior round has been altered to enable Hokitika to have a home same owing to their playing in Greymouth on May 23, and to Star- United forfeiting in the match to have been played in Hokitika last Saturday.
