JAPANESE ATTACKS
REPULSED IN PHILIPPINES.

A U.S. Army communique states: In the Philippine theatre, after several days of inactivity, the enemy launched a sudden raid on our lines on Bataan Peninsula. This attack was easily repulsed by General Wainwright’s troops. our harbour defences were heavily shelled for several hours from the Cavite shore, resulting in only slight damage. > A Japanese destroyer shelled Port Cebu for a brief period. No damage was done.
