At the local Court yesterojay in the claim vv. Penington v. A. T. Graham, judgment was for plamtui by deiauk fur £4 18s With costs ix bs 6d. A prohibition order was issued ugamst a resident of tne district. At Monday evening’s meeting of the Inangaiiua County Patriotic Committee, Mr Meilett, of Inangaiiua Junction, handed in letters, received by Mrs Meilett, from two soldiers overseas expressing appreciation for parcels received. extracts from cnese letters are as follows: “From Lieut. Corporal J. L. Cragg, Divisional Postal Unit, 2nd N.Z.E.F., Middle East Forces: This is just a' note of thanks for the very fine parcel I received from Inangaiiua Junction. Everything was very useful and the cakes excellent. If you could see the joy the boys receive from these parcels I am sure you would be amply rewarded for your efforts. We are all unanimous that you women folk are doing a great joo and have to carry the heaviest burden of all. 'Would you please convey my thanks to the inangahua Junction Society for the parcel and once again many thanks for the cake..” “From Sapper S. A. Manttan, Divisional Engineers, 2nd N.Z.E.F., Middle East Forces. —It is great to write and thank you for the cake received in our Xmas patriotic parcel; you may not guess how grand it was, and it arrived at a very opportune time. You must also thank _your committee for the generous parcel and thanks to all folk in N.Z. We did manage to have a sort of Xmas — lamb, green peas and the proverbial plum pudding. Once again many thanks for the cake which was 100 per cent.”
