112 YEARS OLD

MR. P. L. HAMILTON OF TIMARU. P.A. TIMARU. March 17. Mr. Patrick Lucas Hamilton, who resides at Pleasant Point, to-day celebrated his 112th. birthday. Mr. Hamilton, who was born in County Donegal, Ireland, in the reign of William IV, has known seven Kings on the British Throne during his ’ lifetime. He came to New Zealand in 1870, landing at Lyttelton, but soonarrived in Soul h Canterbury,' where he has lived since. Mr. Hamilton enjoys good health, and retains his faculties to a surprising degree. Ho was the recipient of many congratulatory messages.
