U-BOAT OFFENSIVE
ISLAIND HARBOUR SHELLED [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] ■ WASHINGTON, March 14. The British authorities have disclosed that an enemy submarine attacked the harbour of Castries, on St. Lucia in the Windward Islands, on the night of March 9, damaging two ships and causing slight casualties. The announcement did not reveal whether the U-boat fired shells or torpedoes. St. Lucia is the site of a United States defence base. ) ENEMY 'E-BOATS SUNK LONDON, March 15. The sinking of two enemy E-boats in the Channel is announced in an Admiralty communique, which says that yesterday British surface patrols made contact with light enemy forces. 'A brief action ensued, lasting only two and a half minutes, in which one of the enemy E-boats was blown up and another sunk. The British forces suffered no losses and only minor superficial damage. U.S. FREIGHTER SUNK (Rec. 10.10) HAVANA, March 15. The 5000-ton American freighter Colabee has been torpedoed and sunk off Cuba.
