ST. PATRICK’S DAY

IRISH NATIONAL CONCERT. TOWN HALL, TO-NIGHT. Visiting as well as local artists figure in the programme of the Concert in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, which will be staged this evening at the Greymouth Town Hal.. Among old favourites making a reappearance are two noted vocalists, Mrs W. Cogswell and Mr Dave McGill. Other soloists include such well-known performers as Mr Jim Duffy and Mr Tom Hatch, and Mrs L. Dumbleton. The choral items include a part-song by Misses Tennent, Wotton, Willis, Walker, Fraser and Allen. A song and dance will be given by Miss Peggy Guy; a recitation by Miss Patsy Kiely. There are also the verse-speaking Choir, Marist Brothers’ and Convent Schools’ Choirs. In addition, there will be a dance by Miss Shirley Cleghorn, and items by the Convent Orchestra. LAST EVENING’S DANCE. One of the biggest crowds pf dancers that have graced the floor of St. Columba Hall for many years, last night thoroughly enjoyed themselves, when the second function in connection with the celebrations of St. Patrick’s Day took place. The floor was in perfect order for dancing and an excellent programme of modern and old-time numbers was presented to excellent music. The supper was everything that could be desired, and great credit is due to the ladies’ committee.
