The funeral of the late Mr. Roy Rooney, of Cobden, took place at Karoro Cemetery yesterday morning. Rev. Father J. Long celebrated Requiem Mass at St. Patrick's Churcn and Rev. Father Holohan conducted the service at the graveside.

Sir C. Newall yesterday visited Bay centres, and Ladv Newall assisted the Paihia Branch of the Red Cross in war work. —Press Assn
