Mr. J. Byrne, was a passenger to Wellington by yesterday’s plane. Mrs. R. Herd, arrived from Karamea' yesterday and is proceeding to Inangahua Junction on a visit to her sister, Mrs. Winstanley. Mr .and Mrs R. L. Hawick, of Karamea, are leaving to-day for Christchurch and Timaru on a holiday visit. The death occurred on the 23rd. inst. at Wellington, of Mrs. Klien Elizabeth Norman, formerly of Westport. She is survived by two sons, E. R. and G. H. Norman, and one daughter, Mrs. S. P. McDonald. Wedding: A pretty wedding took place in the Presbyterian Church on Friday evening, the contracting parties being William Riggins, second son of Mr. and Airs. Matt Hewitson, Dunedin, and late of Denniston, to Catherine Phyllis, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs.' R. Longmuir-Kerr, of Denniston. Rev. H. L. Wilkinson. Westport, was the officiating clergyman, while Mrs. H. Pearson presided at tne organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father and wore a navy blue dress with accessories to tone., and was attended by her brother. Mr. David Hewitson. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents and was attended by friends of the happy couple. The usual toast list was honoured. A dance followed in the Orange Hall, the music IoT which was supplied by Miss Eunice Pullar. piano, while Mr. G. Cumming acted as M.C. The couple wm take up residence at Marshallvale.
