LAX TAXPAYERS
WARNING GIVEN. P.A. WELLINGTON, Ju.lv 25. Stating that there was too much procrastination on the part of tometaxpayers. Dr. N. A. Foden, prosecuting on behalf of the Commissioner of Taxes, gave a warning in Court today that Iqss leniency was to be extended in future. Prosecutions, he said, were being taken much earlier than usu?l to serve as a warning. The furn’sh-ng of late returns was the cause of very much additional work . and expense in the Department, work and expence which could be avoided if taxpayers complied promptly with the legal requirements in regard to the furnishing of income Three firms were fined.
